Phinda Vlei Lodge offers six thatched suites with interiors inspired by the turn of the century, plantaton-style homestead of KwaZulu-Natal's sugar cane and pineapple barons.

At Vlei Lodge simply spending time in your spacious suite is like being on safari.  With each suite carefully positioned for a prime view of the animals coming out to drink and panoramic vistas from even your shower or bathtub, the game viewing never stops.

Phinda Rock Lodge looks out over its own lush valley like a small private castle amidst a tangle of wild African sights and sounds.  The suites of this intimate and romantic lodge cling dramatically to steep cliffs with views across the valley.

Each romantic suite, constructed from contoured stone and adobe, boasts an earthy, soft palette and solid wooden shutters and doors, which open onto a private plunge pool and viewing deck, the perfect setting for al fresco dining.

With its light, airy, open spaces and views from every angle, Karula is truly the pride of Kapama as our flagship lodge. Our superior villas feature wrap-around glass sliding doors that open onto an outside deck area with stunning views of the Klaserie River.

The largest of our camps, River Lodge’s wide, open spaces and airy design are a constant reminder that you’re sleeping under the African sky. River Lodge is more festive and social than our smaller, quieter camps, which is why young couples and groups of friends are often among our guests.

High in the treetops, accessible only by elevated wooden walkways, the old-world luxury tents of Buffalo Camp are the closest you’ll get to living alongside our wildlife. Buffalo is a quiet and intimate lodge where you can unwind in the shade of the trees and simply absorb the surrounding peace.

 

Set among tall, shady trees, with a seasonal river below, Buffalo Camp’s suites are ultra-luxurious tents that consistently delight our guests. Dark wood and leather finishes add a nostalgic air, while oil lanterns illuminating the walkways at night create a wonderfully romantic ambience.

River Lodge is the origin of the Lion Sands safari – the elemental safari. Here guests can expect a sophisticated interpretation of the traditional safari lodge, with an emphasis on clean lines, optimised natural light and contemporary décor.

 

The dining experience includes the traditional Boma ‘with a twist’; the signature Riverbed dinners and deck dining, in the shade of the trees and overlooking the Sabie River. Breakfast is a home-styled experience.

Fish Eagle Villa is the ultimate private safari experience for families and smaller groups of friends, and comes with its own Chef, as well as dedicated Field Guide and private safari vehicle. The Fish Eagle Villa also has its own wellness area (with double treatment room) and private exercise facility – as well as lap pool and jetty overlooking the Sabie River.

 

The Fish Eagle Villa is able to accommodate up to 6 people sharing (including 4 adults and 2 young children sleeping on single beds in their parents’ room), each of the two Suites having an en-suite open plan bathroom, as well as outdoor shower area.
