About Us
Our Story
My love for the African bush started as a child when my family would always go on an annual holiday to the Kruger National Park. I would marvel at the beauty of the park, the majestic antelope, the snorting warthogs running into the distance with their tails up in the air, the predators stalking their prey behind a buffalo thorn bush and the birds giving the game away with their alarm calling. So, it was an easy decision to make when I graduated from high school to study wildlife conservation in Pretoria.
The 3 year course required a 12 month practical placement within a wildlife reserve, I had the pleasure of completing my practical placement within the Greater Kruger Park and formed part of the team responsible for guiding clients on game drives and walking safaris within the concession.
Following the completion of my tertiary education I decided that working with visitors to this great continent was what I had a passion for; I spend the next few years working with others to increase my practical knowledge before I set up Bup Tours in 2008. I have since welcomed hundreds of travellers to Southern Africa and shared my knowledge, passion and love for this unique part of the world. I could never see myself doing anything other than working in the great outdoors where I can share what Africa has to offer with my clients.

The travel industry today is a multi corporate business where selling accommodation or tours is just about numbers and profit margins. At Bup Tours we are a family run business with an enormous enthusiasm for what we offer. Being based in South Africa allows us to travel both for business and on a personal level to the areas, lodges and reserves we recommend to our clients. This gives us an in depth knowledge of Africa, its customs and processes along with the practicalities of visiting and travelling around Southern Africa.
Being an owner run business allows us to give our clients the personal touch, which gives them the very best experience of Africa. Our high percentage of repeat business and word of mouth recommendations speaks for its self!
We meet with our travel partners on a regular basis to ensure our clients get the very best experience from their vacation. We conduct both guided tours, with highly experienced, passionate and fully qualified guides, or destination holidays, where we will arrange all your travel and accommodation once you arrive in Africa, either way we are confident you will have the holiday of a lifetime with Bup Tours.

Change to User Agreement
Bup Tours reserves the right to make changes to this site and this user agreement at any time without notice.
Booking Terms and Conditions
In order to confirm our clients’ reservation, Bup Tours requires a 50% deposit payment at the time of making your booking. Failure to do so will result in your reservation automatically being cancelled. The balance of payment is due 8 weeks (60 days) prior to the commencement date of your itinerary. Bookings made within 8 weeks (60 days) prior to departure are subject to full prepayment at the time of confirming the reservation.
Please note that should you have been quoted in foreign currency and wish to settle payment by means of a credit card, your quotation will be converted to South African Rand prior to the transaction being processed due to foreign exchange regulations by the South African Reserve Bank. The rate of exchange on the day that the transaction is processed will be used to determine the equivalent Rand amount with any resulting foreign exchange differences or bank charges being for the client’s account. The South African Reserve Bank prohibits South African companies from taking foreign credit card payments and keeping the payment in foreign currency. The payment has to be converted to South African Rand before it is credited to the recipient.
Clients are welcome to settle payment by means of a bank transfer – in this instance the amount will be converted by your bankers on presentation of our invoice. It is the client’s responsibility to inform and instruct their bankers that the net invoice amount must equal the funds clearing into the Bup Tours’ bank account and that ALL bank charges are for the client’s account.
Our Standard Cancellation Policy: - Cancellation prior to 8 weeks of travel - Full 30 % deposit is forfeited - Cancellation 8 – 4 weeks prior to travel - 50% of total cost is forfeited. Cancellation less than 4 weeks prior to travel - 100% of total cost is forfeited
Passports and Children
Please note that anyone traveling to Southern Africa must have two consecutive blank pages in their passport which lie side by side when the passport is open (i.e. a left- and a right-hand page). Passengers traveling to Southern Africa with passports which do not comply with these requirements, will either be stopped from boarding the aircraft or risk deportation on arrival in Southern Africa. In addition, a parent travelling with children, without the other parent, will need a letter of consent from the absent parent. The letter of consent must be certified by the police.
