Rock Lodge is situated within the 28 500 hectare Phinda Private Game Reserve. Phinda is famous for its excellent sightings of the elusive but stunning cheetah as well as its work in rhino conservation.  Often referred to as ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder’ Phinda benefits from seven distinct ecosystems making it a diverse and stunning reserve.

 

In excess of 400 bird species have been recorded at Phinda, so not only is it a perfect place for a Big 5 safari but also for the avid birders amongst us.

Each of the six suites at Rock Lodge boast a stunning private deck overlooking the riverine valley below and a plunge pool to cool off from the African heat.  The suites all have large bath tubs to soak in while taking in the view of the beautiful surroundings and indoor showers.  Whilst three suites also have outdoor showers to add that little bit extra.

 

King size beds, separate lounge areas, air conditioning, mini bars and day beds also add to the luxurious feel of Rock Lodge.

The main area at Rock Lodge is beautifully designed to make the most of the stunning location.  The wooden deck has a perfect view of the white face of Leopard Rock whilst the waterhole entices the wildlife out from the forest to quench their thirst.

 

Climb the rustic ladder to the roof and marvel at the truly breathtaking vista that awaits you.  Private intimate dining in your suite, admiring the view on the main deck or with newly acquired friends in the cozy dining room, at Rock Lodge the choice is yours.

Twice-daily game drives in open game drives vehicles and guided bush walks with a highly qualified ranger.

 

Optional Phinda Adventures Activities: Zulu village tours, Maputaland beach adventures, night turtle drives (seasonal), scuba safaris, an ocean safari, black rhino tracking on foot. Specialist Safaris include birding, photographic, rhino capture and research, Specialist Walking Safari, family and private safaris.
