An exclusive 5 star lodge, Savanna is situated in the internationally famous Sabi Sand Reserve within the greater Kruger National Park conservancy. Savanna lies in an area where 'Big 5' sightings are so frequent, it is not unusual to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino in a single game drive.  Specially designed game viewing vehicles and highly trained guides with vast knowledge of the African bushveld, take guests on close and intimate encounters with a large variety of wildlife. Numerous nearby dams and a series of waterholes in front of the lodge attract many species, especially in the dry winter months when elephants are daily visitors.

 

A close-knit team of friendly staff provides personalised service with each guest regarded as a valued friend. From the moment they arrive guests feel part of the Savanna 'family'.

Nine magnificent suites offer spacious and luxurious accommodation. Three Executive and four Luxury Suites offer a unique 'Out of Africa' experience with canvas roofs above draped ceilings set on permanent structures. All have magnificent bathrooms and decks looking onto waterholes in the bush. In addition, the larger Executive Suites have plunge pools.

 

The thatched Savanna Suite is ideal for families or small groups wishing to share private time together in elegant, stylish surroundings.

 

The suite consists of two en-suite bedrooms each boasting a lounge area and covered wooden deck with private plunge pool.

Candle-lit dinners, with traditional local dishes adding spice to the best international fare, are served on the deck of the main lodge. On balmy nights, sumptuous braais are enjoyed under the stars round a blazing fire in an open-air 'boma' or in a candle-lit clearing in the bush. Cuisine is of the highest standard, with much emphasis on quality and presentation, complemented by award winning wines from Savanna's well-stocked wine cellar.

 

Savanna guests are welcome to use the gym during their stay. Equipment includes treadmill, elliptical machine, recumbent bike, exercise bike, free weights, dual adjustable pulley, chest press and leg curl machine.

The best trained and most experienced team of game rangers and trackers, under the leadership of Paddy Hagelthorn and Neil Whyte, have been assembled to ensure the most diverse and complete safari experience available.

 

The lodges trackers –were all born in this area. They have a lifetime of knowledge of the African bush and have all undergone extensive training in the art of tracking Africa’s wildlife, ensuring that Savanna provides its guests with a comprehensive check list of sightings.

 

The family suite includes a private ranger, tracker and vehicle to guide you on game drives tailor made to take your family’s needs into account.
