The 75 000 hectare, malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve is just a 4 hour drive from Johannesburg, and offers not only Big 5 viewing but the ‘Super Seven’ (wild dog & cheetah) are also seen on a regular basis along with the nocturnal brown hyena.

 

This luxury house situated on the banks of Marico River in Madikwe Game Reserve offers excellent value for money accommodating up to 6 adults and four children in exclusive use accommodation.

Morukuru River House has three bedrooms, which can sleep up to six guests but four children can also be accommodated in bunk beds in the study/family room.  Each master bedroom has super king size beds, air-conditioning and large en-suite bathrooms boasting luxury bathtubs with views of the bush and both indoor and outdoor showers.

 

The study/family room includes satellite TV, Playstation console, computer with internet access and DVDs.

Romantic fireplaces in the lounge areas give a warm friendly feel to the stunning house.  Dining can be accommodated in a number of different settings with indoor, al fresco in the wooden decking and private dining options available.

As guests of Morukuru River House you get your very own private ranger, tracker and game vehicle so the timetable is yours to create.  However, the options available to you are twice daily game drives.  Your personal professional guide and tracker will track and get up close to Big 5 sighting for those ‘once in a lifetime’ photos. 

 

A bush walk is always recommended, this experience allows your guide to share his knowledge and explain the importance of the smaller creatures of the African such as dung beetles and termites, along with the traditional uses for the trees and plans within the reserve.
