This 22 000 hectare private game reserve sits in a very convenient location at the Eastern side of the famous South African Garden Route and so makes a perfect start or finish to your travels in South Africa.  It also boasts a malaria free status so ideal for families.

 

This is a reserve where the nocturnal creatures such as porcupine, aardwolf and aardvark are seen on a regular basis.

Great Fish River Lodge is home to just nine beautiful suites. Each include king size beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar and electronic safe.  The en-suite bathrooms boast double vanity units, free standing bathtubs and both indoor and outdoor showers.

 

Open up you floor to ceiling framed glass doors and step out onto your very own private deck, there you’ll witness your stunning view of the African wilderness and you’ll also find a stunning plunge pool to cool off from the African sun.

Activities

The activities available to guests at Kwandwe are extensive.  Your experienced ranger and tracker will enthrall you with close animal encounters in you twice daily game drives.  Let you ranger give you a different perspective of the African wildlife with a bush walk, here he will explain the importance of the smaller creatures such a dung beetles and termites along with the traditional uses for the trees and plants within the reserve.

 

To get your adrenaline pumping and join a specialist armed ranger and tracker team in tracking the big game (white rhino, black rhino, elephant and buffalo) on foot (16 years and older only).  Or at a more sedate place, catch and release fishing in the Great Fish river is also offered.
