Kimondo Migration Camp splits the year between two sites in the Serengeti, meaning guests are likely to see the Great Migration herds regardless of when they visit.

From July to October, you can watch the wildebeest thunder across the Mara River, risking being snapped up by lurking crocodiles.  During the winter, they move to the lush southern Serengeti, where the wildebeest gather in their hundreds of thousands to calve and graze.

The nine canvas tents, including one family tent, have king-sized or twin beds with cast-iron frames, handwoven rugs and wooden furnishings. They offer a real safari experience with plenty of comfort.

There are en-suite bathrooms with outdoor bucket showers, a flushing toilet and hot running water. The lounger on your veranda is the perfect spot for a post-lunch snooze.

Facilities

Facilities

Kimondo Migration Camp pays homage to 1920s safaris, with traditional canvas tents and Moroccan-style furnishings. Handwoven rugs carpet the dining tent and burnished copper lanterns are set aglow in the evenings.  They dine in the tent or under the stars, before moving to the campfire to share safari stories.

All food, including freshly baked breads, biscuits and muffins, is prepared in camp. At breakfast, choose from a continental buffet or a full English. Lunch is a light buffet with salads and fresh vegetables. If you prefer, they can also pack a picnic to be enjoyed in the bush. Dinner is a three-course meal to enjoy with your fellow guests.

From camp, watch herds of wildebeest, zebras and antelope as you relax outside your tent and soak up the peacefulness of the savannah. In the evenings, sip a G&T around the campfire while admiring the glittering Milky Way.

Activities

Activities

Start the day bright and early with a wake-up call and tea or coffee. Enjoy breakfast before departing for your morning game drive (or ask for a picnic to take along). Arrive back at camp mid-morning, with a chance to freshen up before lunch.

After a leisurely lunch, enjoy siesta time. Take a nap, read a book or just relax and enjoy your surroundings. Refuel with afternoon tea and then depart for an afternoon/evening game drive with sundowners.

You'll be back in time for drinks around the campfire and dinner — the perfect chance to unwind after a long day in the bush.
