This 45-suite boutique hotel elevates the standard of luxury for travellers in the region. Beautiful in its symmetry and flooded with natural light, this plantation-style property is airy and spacious. Each of the 80m² suites have a private balcony overlooking the iconic silhouette of the Ngong Hills, a magical view which can also be enjoyed over sundowners at the bar.
Rooms
Lofty, expansive rooms with vast, bright en-suite bathrooms and large private terraces are characteristic of the hotel’s wonderful sense of space and use of natural light. There are 45 high-ceilinged suites, two of which are penthouse style Presidential Suites and 43 Junior Suites culminating in vaulted beams. Muted colors and textured fabrics in ecru and taupe create an ambiance of contemporary-chic while subtle touches of brass, mahogany and leather bear reference to the classic elegance of vintage East African safaris. Beyond the balustrade of your private balcony, we’ve chosen for you a view of The Green Hills of Africa, as described in Hemingway’s novel.
Each of the Suites are named after a famous person or place associated with Kenya, travel, writing and exploring – will you be staying in the Robert Redford Suite, the Kenyatta Suite or the Mara Suite?
Facilities
Housed in its own wing of the hotel overlooking the pool and manicured gardens, the Hemingways Spa offers guests peace and relaxation. The Spa menu combines both French and custom designed treatments crafted from locally sourced ingredients and is the perfect place to rediscover your senses after a long flight or a dusty safari.
For those seeking a workout whilst at Hemingways Nairobi, the fitness room is open 7 days a week and features a wide selection of Techno gym equipment. Their gym instructor is on hand to assist when necessary and also offers personal training sessions which include a post workout assisted stretch.
Refined food with a relaxed feel, the Brasserie terrace is the perfect place for a relaxing dinner among friends and family. Their extensive wine list, featuring old and new world wines, delivers the perfect accompaniment to signature steaks grilled under the Josper oven whilst the in house made pastas provide warming fare during the rare chilly nights in Nairobi.
Activities
Hemingways Nairobi is ideally located to several of Nairobi’s major tourist attractions so before you fly off to the Maasai Mara or to the Indian Ocean’s ivory sands, spare a few moments to enjoy Nairobi’s sights and scenes. Stop for a trip down memory lane with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum made famous from the award winning film Out of Africa.
Enjoy a close up view of the endangered giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, whilst nearby the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust hand rears orphaned elephant and rhinos and rehabilitates them so that they can re-enter the wild. Enjoy a safari in the city as you touchdown in Kenya or for a final gamedrive before you depart and shop for those magical Kenyan souvenirs for friends and family back home. All this is possible just a short distance from Hemingways Nairobi.
