Leadwood captivates its guests by taking deep root in their hearts, much like the ancient trees after which the Lodge is named.

 

Leadwood Lodge is ultimate safari choice for discerning travellers in search of luxurious exclusivity and solitude. Nestled in the confluence of the Sand and Mabrak Rivers, Leadwood Lodge offers an intimate and serene getaway that is completely at peace with the bush that surrounds it.

 

With only four suites carefully distanced from each other, Leadwood Lodge offers the idyllic honeymoon setting. It can also ideally accommodate parties of friends and families who want to share an exclusive group experience without intruding on each other’s privacy. The four magnificent suites, with inspiring views over the Sand River, are lavishly appointed in contemporary style with every creature comfort imaginable. Leadwood’s safari vehicles are designed to carry no more than 6 guests.

With only four suites, Leadwood lends itself to the honeymooner, romantic traveller or small group.  Each suite has a king size bed, separate lounge area with a cosy couch overlooking the riverbed. 

 

The private viewing deck is large enough to enjoy a romantic intimate dinner on a warm African night whilst the large heated lap pool gives you a perfect view of the river and bush beyond to watch the wildlife wonder by.

The traffic of game frequenting the trails through and beyond the camp and riverbed may be enjoyed from the cantilevered deck tented by a leafy Jackalberry. It is not uncommon to secretly witness the passage of an elusive leopard from this vantage point. The deck also offers an alternative venue for enjoying the rich fare at meal times.

 

Traditionally known as “the boma”, this truly African dining venue boasts a ceiling of stars and a roaring fire. The wine cellar boasts a collection of South Africa’s finest wines. Whether sunning at the pool, resting in the shade of the Leadwoods or enjoying an intimate dinner.

Game drives at Dulini Private Game Reserve are taken by professional and passionate rangers and trackers. An early morning game drive ensures that you catch the tail end of the night exploits of nocturnal creatures and inspires you with the new day vigour of the bush, still veiled in dew. The option of daily bush walks is offered by our field guides.

 

You embark on your afternoon drive when the intensity of the African heat begins to subside. This game drive coincides with the close of business for daytime game and the emerging routines of nocturnal beasts on the prowl. There is nothing quite as enthralling as pursuing the hunt of the big cats.
