Sabi Sand Game Reserve
The ultimate South Africa safari destination
The most famous private game reserve of all. Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to South Africa's flagship Kruger National Park, offers a safari experience found nowhere else in the world. Game viewing possibilities are simply unparalleled, including the much sought after 'Big 5'. Add a fantastic range of luxury lodges suiting all tastes and an African dream safari is born. There are no fences between Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Game Reserve, so wildlife roams freely in the huge natural environment.
The Sabi Sand is in particular well known for its amazing leopard sightings. The most elusive animal of the Big 5 is frequently spotted when going on a game drive in the reserve. As such, Sabi Sand offers the ultimate photographic safari one can think of. You can be certain to return home with some absolutely stunning pictures and memories. Besided the Big 5, other game animals occur in great numbers, along with more than 400 bird species. Sabi Sand possibly makes the best South African safari destination for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers alike.
An exclusive safari destination
Sabi Sand Game Reserve is home to many different lodges that all have something unique to offer. Some are ultra luxurious, and some are quite affordable. Staying in such a lodge implies that meals are included in your stay. Also the most important thing, safari activities, are included in the rate. This is the quintessential advantage of staying in a private game reserve.
You will be guided by highly trained guides that can tell you everything about the reserve and the animals. Day visitors are not allowed in the reserve, so you can only stay here when booked into one of the lodges. You are also not allowed to drive around the reserve on your own. This guarantees the park's exclusivity. One of the other major advantages is that when on safari with one of the rangers, they are allowed to drive off road (something that is strictly prohibited in Kruger National Park). So, when following a leopard, your ranger is allowed to follow it in the bush. An amazing experience and worth a trip to the bush on its own.

Londolozi Varty Camp
Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa
The campfire has burned at Varty Camp for over 90 years, making this place the symbolic heart of Londolozi. This original camp is a tapestry of brick paths, dolerite rock walls, waterfalls and tangled vines echoing simple spaces with unencumbered river view backdrops. The tones of the camp reflect the owners’ 90-year love affair with this land and therefore place an emphasis on family and heritage.
Children over the age of six are welcome at Varty Camp. Each room has its own private swimming pool, outdoor shower and outdoor dining sala framed by timber decks raised off the ground under the shade of an ancient riverine forest.
