The world-famous Kruger National Park was first proclaimed in 1898, at the time President Paul Kruger believed the wildlife of South Africa needed protection, but it took another 12 years before hunting was restricted in the area between the Sabie and Crocodile rivers.

These days the park is a premier South African safari destination with Hamilton’s Tented Camp having access to prime Kruger bushveld.  The camp harks back to a bygone era of personal butler service and exhilarating safari experiences, but Hamilton’s Tented Camp not only represents a little slice of history. It guarantees a private, exclusive bushveld escape, unfettered by unnecessary modern interruptions and authentic in every way.

Rooms

Rooms

Hamilton’s Tented Camp consists of just six private luxury safari tents, each with twin or king size beds draped with mosquito netting, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and an indoor seating area with luxurious soft furnishings.  The en-suite facilities include an indoor free-standing bath tub, outdoor shower, single vanity and separate w.c.

Open your doors onto a wooden veranda with a seating area and stunning views of the Nwaswitsontso River.

Facilities

Facilities

The facilities on offer at Hamilton’s Camp include a sparkling pool, idea for cooling off during the lazy afternoons, surrounded by a wooden deck with loungers.  A raised guest lounge and bar.

Dining is conducted either in the dining room, out on viewing deck or in the riverbed by your silver serve butler who will anticipate your every need.  Bush breakfasts and picnics are also a popular option.

Activities

Activities

Activities at Hamilton’s Tented Camp include twice daily game drives with highly experienced guides in state of the art open game drive vehicles.

It’s always recommended that you join your guide on an insightful bush walk where he will take you on a journey of discovery explaining in greater detail the medical uses of various plants and tree along the importance of the smaller creatures, like the dung beetles, termites and even the mosquitoes have to the ecosystem.  You will go away with a much greater respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet.
