Rhino Ridge is the only private game lodge within the 96 000 hectare Hluhluwe-iMoflozi Park and is in the heart of Zululand.  The lodge sits on a ridge overlooking a natural water hole that is active both day and night.


Enjoy exciting game drives in search of not only the ‘Big 5’ but also the elusive cheetah and busy wild dog, which makes up Africa’s ‘Super Seven’.



Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge offers guests a choice of accommodation; Honeymoon Villas with large private viewing decks over the reserve and plunge pools, Luxury Bush Villas with large open plan bedrooms and lounge areas and cozy fireplaces to Safari & Family Safari Rooms with an open plan bedroom and viewing deck.


All the suites include king size bed, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, safe and hairdryer.  The en-suites boast double vanities and separate showers with the villas also including a bathtub.



The facilities available to guests of Rhino Ridge include an extensive viewing deck overlooking the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Reserve, sparkling pool for cooling off from the afternoon sun, a lounge area, various seating, wine cellar, bar and spa facilities.


Meals can be taken either in the glass fronted dining room or out on the viewing deck under the stars.  After dinner it is common for guests to gather around the lodge’s fire pit to discuss the days sightings.



Activities available at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge include twice daily game drive in open game drive vehicles with highly professional rangers who will enjoy sharing his knowledge and experiences of the African bush.


After a scrumptious breakfast you are welcome to join your ranger on an insightful bush walk where he will take you on a journey of discovery explaining in greater detail the medical uses of various plants and tree along the importance of the smaller creatures, like the dung beetles, termites and even the mosquitoes have to the ecosystem.  You will go away with a much greater respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet.
