The world-famous Kruger National Park was first proclaimed in 1898, at the time President Paul Kruger believed the wildlife of South Africa needed protection, but it took another 12 years before hunting was restricted in the area between the Sabie and Crocodile rivers.

These days the park is a premier South African safari destination with Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge having access to prime Kruger bushveld.  Expect an authentic encounter with the local Tsonga culture in extraordinary bush surroundings; the Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s most renowned conservation areas and home to the Big Five.

Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge consists of just six traditional Tsonga thatched rondavels, each with twin or king size beds draped with mosquito netting, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and an indoor seating area with luxurious soft furnishings.  The en-suite facilities include an indoor free-standing bath tub, outdoor shower, single vanity and separate w.c.

Open your doors onto a wooden veranda with a seating area and stunning views of the African bushveld.

The facilities on offer at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge include a sparkling pool, idea for cooling off during the lazy afternoons, surrounded by a wooden deck with loungers.  A raised guest lounge and bar.

Dining is conducted either in the dining room or out on viewing deck by your silver service butler who will anticipate your every need.  Spa treatments are also available in the comfort of your suite.

Activities at Hoyo Hoyo include twice daily game drives with highly experienced guides in state of the art open game drive vehicles.

It’s always recommended that you join your guide on an insightful bush walk where he will take you on a journey of discovery explaining in greater detail the medical uses of various plants and tree along the importance of the smaller creatures, like the dung beetles, termites and even the mosquitoes have to the ecosystem.  You will go away with a much greater respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet.
