The world-famous Kruger National Park was first proclaimed in 1898, at the time President Paul Kruger believed the wildlife of South Africa needed protection, but it took another 12 years before hunting was restricted in the area between the Sabie and Crocodile rivers.
These days the park is a premier South African safari destination with Jock’s Safari Lodge having access to prime Kruger bushveld. Nestled at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers at the southern tip of the park.
Fitzpatrick’s at Jock consists of three bedrooms, bedroom 1 has a private deck and plunge pool, bedrooms 2 & 3 share a deck and plunge pool.
Each bedroom has twin or king size beds draped with mosquito netting, air-conditioning, ceiling fans with luxurious soft furnishings. The en-suite facilities include free standing bathtub, both indoor and outdoor showers, double vanities and separate w.c.
The facilities on offer at Fitzpatrick at Jock include a rock swimming pool with loungers and viewing deck. A lounge with TV and library, a second lounge with open fireplace and a dining room.
Activities at Fitzpatrick's Jock include twice daily game drives with highly experienced guides in state of the art open game drive vehicles.
It’s always recommended that you join your guide on an insightful bush walk where he will take you on a journey of discovery explaining in greater detail the medical uses of various plants and tree along the importance of the smaller creatures, like the dung beetles, termites and even the mosquitoes have to the ecosystem. You will go away with a much greater respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet.
