The 14 000 hectare of pristine African wilderness which is home to the Thornybush Private Nature Reserve is in the Northern part of the Sabi Sand and forms part of the Greater Kruger Park.
Thornybush enjoys some of the best game viewing on offer with spectacular ‘Big 5’ sightings plus the elusive cheetah and wild dog make this a ‘Super Seven’ destination.
Each of the tented suites at Chapunga have king size beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, indoor showers, double vanities and a unique outdoor bath experience.
The Lodge facilities include, rock pool wine cellar boma dining and a curio shopping should you wish to have a memento of your stay at Chapungu.
Twice daily game drive in open Land Cruisers with highly professional rangers and Shangaan trackers, both of which enjoy sharing their knowledge and experiences of the African bush.
After a scrumptious breakfast you are welcome to join your ranger on an insightful bush walk where he will take you on a journey of discovery explaining in greater detail the medical uses of various plants and tree along the importance of the smaller creatures, like the dung beetles, termites and even the mosquitoes have to the ecosystem. You will go away with a much greater respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet.
